THE STOKED Formed in 2009, The Stoked is a nomadic guerilla art collective that creates work in response to current issues and other art works. Its first video Hell (Nipple Rash)  was exhibited at the Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in 2009/2010 alongside Tracy Moffatt’s Heaven (1997).  Les Deux Redux (2010) featured a rare performance by Parisian icon Michelle Lamy and was screened at the 2010 Bondi Short Shorts Film Festival. The following year Festival also screened the collective’s next work Sea Hags Ahoy! . I ©NYC Cycleways premiered at Monstrosity Gallery, Sydney in 2010 and the gallery exhibited two images by The Stoked in its 2011 group show ‘Fur’. Brokeback Mountain Bikes was screened at the Sydney Opera House during the 2011 Bicycle Film Festival. It won the Audience Choice award at the 2011 Queer Fruits Film Festival and received an Honorable Mention at Shockfest 2011. It was also selected for the 2012 Paris Lesbian and Feminist Film Festival. Laying It On The Line (2012) is a 10 minute video documentation of three anti-coal protest performances - Vulnerable @ Invincible (2010), Endangered @ Charbon (2011) and Extinct @ Blackman’s Flat (2012). The work is accompanied by a triptych of still photographs, one of which was featured in the City of Sydney’s public art exhibition ‘Art and About’ (2012). The collective is currently plotting its next guerilla art attack for Cementa 2013.
