Kate spinning at the Rylstone Markets Hello Kandos Spinners!  My work for Cementa_13 will be to facilitate a memorial to the cement works and the people who worked there.  We will spin wool as a group, collect stories from the town and make a memorial from wool and cement.  If you are a spinner living in Kandos, please come and join us for a drink, a spin and a chat about the cement works.  Meet at the Kandos Museum at 7pm Wednesday 12th December, bring a plate and your wheel.  The cement works were integral to the formation of Kandos, but now that they are leaving there is a rich history for us to talk about.  If you have a story about the cement works, but you don't know how to spin, come along and we will teach you.  The aim of this project will be to spin a memorial to the cement works that will be given over to the towns museum.  As an extra special treat,  Leanne Wicks will be giving a talk on ancient greek spinning and the relationship between mythology, textiles and text.   If you would like more information about me as an artist, and look at images of my work, visit my website here http://georginapollardartist.com/
