Grace Herbert & Misha Hardwick
Grace Herbert and Misha Hardwick are artists and collaborators working in public space, installation and participatory programming. Their practice brings together playful, socially-engaged formats with a strong emphasis on access, language and collective experience. Working across exhibitions, events and site-responsive projects, they create environments that invite audiences to move, gather and contribute. Herbert’s background in large-scale public programming, and Hardwick’s experience in writing, translation and education inform a shared approach grounded in hospitality and exchange. Together, they develop projects that foreground community voice, reimagine everyday spaces and explore art as a lived, participatory encounter.
Piazza for Kandos is a temporary public square for the town including mosaic benches, sculptures and garden beds. It is an open space for locals and visitors to sit, socialise, organise, read, eat, drink and play board games for the duration of Cementa26. Artists Misha and Grace will host pasta meals at the piazza throughout the festival. The piazza furnishings and sculptures include tiles painted by Kandos High School students and materials contributed by the local community
