Romance of the Swag. @ WAYOUT
A tent camping space including a swag from a variety of cloths in Black Wattle Bark and Indigo that have been created at Swamplands Bushland property in Clandulla.

A long career as Australia’s renowned artist and designer has taken Linda Jackson AO around Australia on wanderings through the outback of Oz discovering and documenting the amazing landscape in a myriad of ways, revealing a colourful and unique passion for telling the stories of her travels. Since closing her Bush Couture Studio in 1992, Linda relocated to Arnhem Land in the NT and travelled and lived in remote parts of Australia including WA, NT and North Queensland, working in Indigenous communities, managing art projects and continuing painting and exhibiting her art and textiles in private and regional galleries. Over the years, Linda’s fashion, textiles and photographic archives have been acquired by the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, National Gallery of Victoria and the National Gallery of Australia. Recent exhibitions include Mudgee Arts Precinct, Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, and she (along with Jenny Kee) was the subject ABC iView documentary, “Step into Paradise”.

This is the source that has always inspired me to create, photograph and paint. When my footsteps touched the earth of the Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation in Victoria, the spirit of the Country inspired in me to journey across the land of all Australia’s First Nations Peoples, to meet and learn with respect from the Elders and their ancestors. My passion for this country was to become a strong force in my life, art, and way of being.
