Greg Pritchard’s arts practice is diverse, with a PhD in Literature and a Masters in Shadow Puppetry and Performance. He is a writer, performer, and conceptual artist. His visual art and theatre-making includes contemporary digital technologies. He has been an experimental theatre-maker since 2006 with Thieves; a regional arts administrator for 15 years (after working with the Natimuk Frinj Biennale); Horsham Cultural Development Officer from 2005 to 2010 and RADO for Western Riverina Arts from 2011 to 2012. Pritchard was the Cultural Program Director of the Regional Arts Australia conference, Artlands, Dubbo, in October 2016.
If life is absurd, which it surely is, then it is necessary to illustrate its absurdity. The most effective way to do this, I have found, is through art, whether it be writing, visual art or performance. Music doesn’t work, it is the only thing that can convince you that life is not absurd.
