The Adorned Collective meets on Dharug Country Western Sydney, and is based at Parramatta Artist Studios, Rydalmere. The collective is a community group of artists and craftspeople from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who nurture connection through workshops that focus on collaboration, experimental creative process and skill sharing. Supported by Parramatta Artist Studios, The Adorned Collective meets fortnightly at the Rydalmere studios to collaborate and share creative practice, participate in supported skill sharing workshops and public programs. Within the workshops, participants share their creative practice, materials, skills, stories and food as a process of creative and professional development within an inclusive social space that supports social networks and opportunities for creatives with diverse practices. The Adorned Collective was formed in 2015 as a participant-driven initiative that supports artists, artisans, makers and craftspeople of all ages and abilities from culturally diverse backgrounds and experiences. Since 2015 The Adorned Collective has developed and exhibited solo and collaborative sculptures, wearable art, and photographic, performance, installation and multimedia work. Recent exhibitions and community engagements include Adorned at Liverpool City Library 2021; Common Exchange at Mundubbera Regional Gallery 2020; All of Us at Blindside, Melbourne 2018; New Sacred at Mosman Art Gallery 2018; Adorned: Wisdom, Memory and Song, 2017 and Adorned, Women of Western Sydney 2015, both as part of the Parramasala Festival, Riverside Theatre Parramatta.
